I got these speakers free with my MP3 player (thanks Amazon, a real bargain). They're fine but the sound quality isn't really Hi-Fi quality, in fact its no better than the Dell speakers on my PC which were half the price (that's if I'd paid full price of course). The player just slots in and away you go and the included remote control is only a little larger than a credit card. Speakers themselves are larger than I was expecting and feel substantial, but you do end up with a spagetti tangle of wires.
As the speakers came free I'm really pleased with them, the sound is certainly acceptable and they work very well. If I'd have paid full price I wouldn't be quite so happy and the 3* rating is based on paying full price.
Free with walkman....excellent! November 9, 2007
I got this item free via special offer when buying the Sony NWZA818 MP3 walkman. Although I wouldnt throw away my hifi for this, the sound is good for use in my bedroom. One thing I would add is the ability for the remote to browse menus on the NWZA818, as currently you can play/pause, stop, forward, rewind, skip track forward and back, adjust volume and power on and off, but you are unable to browse though the menus or your own albums using the remote. But thats just being picky as it was free!
All in all I would recommend this item, especially using the deal amazon has, grab it whle you still can.

WOW what a piece of kit, arrived today and looks bigger and better than shown. You can always count on Sony. Throw away your old HI FI this is both great sound and style. Can I say anymore.

I brought this unit to replace our existing hifi system, and purchased the new NW-703 MP3 player from Sony. The sound is excellent, and we was quite amazed at the output you get from these speakers. The cradle looks good, and we always get comments when someone comes round.
