4 out of 5 stars Good value and nice look, but...   June 15, 2008
Very happy with this wireless setup, easy to install, does what it's meant to and looks nice.
Couple of flaws,
Cap locks has no light
Not sure if you can turn it off without turning you're computer off
Keyboard has quite a short range
Apart from these minor problems however, for the price, I'm very happy with the Logitech EX110 Wireless Desktop

1 out of 5 stars POINTLESS rather than wireless!   May 27, 2008

The designer of this product couldn't have been more stupid!

The whole point of buying wireless is to be wire free, and yet this product has a 1m long cable that is twice as thick as a USB cable at the end of which a small receiver is connected.

Why not have the receiver and the USB plug joined together; without the bloody cables?

4 out of 5 stars Good Value Package   May 6, 2008

I have just received this today and am very pleased with it.

The Good:

Setup - Very easy
Response time
Range
Looks pretty nice
Typing feels pretty good, letters are spaced nicely and although there will be better out there, this is just fine for most people I'd say.
Battery life indicator on the taskbar is handy (No idea about battery life though)
The layout is ok too. My last keyboard had the INSERT button situated where I would catch it now and then, this one has that key out the way.

Not so Good:

No light for the caps lock, "although caps lock on/off" comes up on screen when you press the button. Not too sure if I like that actually.

The tilt is pretty poor. A waste of time fixing the legs to it at all TBH.

I was hoping that the " and @ signs were correctly placed for someone in the UK, but like my last keyboard they aren't. Irritating.

No scroll lock. Not something that bothers me a such, but for some this will be important.

Cannot turn off keyboard or mouse so batteries will be an issue I'm sure.

The mouse may be considered slightly small, not too bad for me but others might not be happy.

All in all, this is a good package. Both keyboard & Mouse are of a reasonable standard looks wise. There will be better out there costing more, but if you want a decent cordless keyboard & mouse for around 20 pounds (notice no actual pound sign also! but this... #) then this is recommended. It works easily and does the job.

1 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for with this keyboard and mouse   April 22, 2008

I have been particularly dissatisfied with the keyboard and mouse, which is unusual since Logitech usually make extremely good products.

1. you can't turn them off, so they eat batteries and are on all the time (the mouse tracking light constantly flashes twice a second, even when the computer and mouse are not being used)
2. the keyboard is ergonomically poor (compared to many other keyboards of today) it reminds me of a keyboard I had at work nearly 14 years ago where if you didn't tap the key with the right pressure you either got the character twice or not at all, and it was easy to mis-type - touch/speed typists beware! Even when the keyboard is raised using the small feet at the back, the board is very flat and does not tilt upwards for comfort.

Advice: spend a little more, the price tag on this product says it all, cheap and poorly designed

2 out of 5 stars A couple of things you should bear in mind   April 8, 2008

Most people have had a positive view of this kit, but I beg to differ.

Firstly, the good stuff. Logitech is a good brand, build quality is fine, the keyboard has a nice feel when typing and the wireless aspect works fine. But ... I have three issues with it.

1. There doesn't seem to an off or sleep switch so it's on all the time (even when the computer is off) Result: it eats batteries. The mouse was getting through duracells (not cheapies) at the rate of one set of 2 AAs a month or less. The keyboard, oddly, lasted much longer on AAAs.

2. The keyboard layout is slightly non-standard. Take a close look at the graphic and check out the delete, home and insert keys alongside the Enter. May not bother everyone, but it was enough to annoy this touch typist.

3. The software installation was flaky. It installed okay but when I decided to remove it there was no uninstall entry in the Control Panel (Vista). I'm still figuring out how to do it manually.

I've now gone back to my old wired setup. Plenty of people like this kit and for under 20 it's a good buy if you can live with its foibles. I couldn't.
