An essential resource for digital photographers July 6, 2006 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
An excellent book, packed with genuinely useful information for all digital photographers. Tergetting those Photoshop facilities that are of use when manipulating digital photographs, Martin Evening gives clear and concise guidance on getting the best from digital images. The layout of the book, with clear screen shots and high quality example images is particularly good for books of this type, and is a joy to behold! An invaluable reference work, very well written, and with an extremely useful CD including movie versions of many of the techniques in the book, along with a host of useful resources.
Highly recommended!
adobe phtoshop cs2 for photographers October 30, 2005 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
This is an excellent book that contains virtually all the information you need to be able to use Photoshop CS2 both as an amateur and professional. A little lacking in day to day practical applications nevertheless with some thought there is sufficient information to resolve most issues/problems. The accompanying CD is very useful and even if you have been using Photoshop for a number of years there are some new techniques. A book all Photoshop users should have in their library.
Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers June 3, 2005 135 out of 136 found this review helpful
My personal Photoshop library numbers many dozens of titles from most of the well & not so well known Photoshop Authors.Amongst them are the last three titles from Martin Evening in the Photoshop for Photographers series. Photoshop in all it's guises is in my humble opinion one of the top, if not the top application of all time. However it is a vast and initially daunting programme with many in depth areas.Adobe work hard in making Photoshop accessible and enjoyable to use, but, and this is a "big" but,the programme demands that an individual must make a very real commitment to learning how to use Photoshop if they wish to progress and achieve professional results. If you are a photographer of any standared from beginer to Agency or International Press Professional then this Martin Evening title should be top of your to buy list.As I mention earlier I have many Photoshop books and the vast majority are very good but trust me this title is a "cut" above the rest.It is clear, concise extremely well presented and above all a real pleasure to read.If you are in any way serious about getting the maximumn benefit as a photographer from the latest incarnation of Photoshop CS2 buy it!
