Removal of Default Email Accounts

In recent weeks the level of spam emails targeted at our legacy US Linux servers has increased substantially.

Historically these servers created a default, catchall email address associated with each account as they were set up. These allow any email sent to any address at the domain to be accepted, when large numbers of spam messages are received this has an adverse impact on the performance of the servers.

We have therefore decided that as of 29 February we will start to remove the default email addresses from operation on each of the following servers:

SiteHQ5/Victoria complete.
SiteHQ7/Euston
SiteHQ9/Kings Cross complete.
SiteHQ10/Charing Cross complete.
SiteHQ11/Blackfriars complete.

these changes will be made on a rolling basis to allow us to assist with any increase in support requests, we anticipate the work last approx 4 weeks. As a first step we will set default accounts to reject improperly address incoming emails.

To continue using email after this date please ensure you log in to your cpanel and create an email address under the 'emails' menu in cpanel.

Clients with UK based packages are unaffected by these changes.

Please note: The default address is the one which matches your cpanel login name.
