Another awesome Kingdom Hearts guide by Brady Games June 26, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Hey there, sorry if this reviews a little on the long side, I tried to include everything, so enjoy :D
*The Guides* Anyway, as I'm sure you're probably aware Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories isn't the most difficult game to complete and you probably won't get stuck at any point other than maybe a couple of boss fights, so why get the guide? Well if you have seen the quality of either of the other Kingdom Hearts guides published by Brady Games expect the same high level of quality but remember that the ps2 games are a lot bigger and their guides reflect that, this is a smaller game and so the guide is a lot shorter. That said this guide is awesome.
*The Walkthrough* It starts off with a brief recap on the story from Kingdom Hearts, then explaining about Sora's new adventure, then there's a characters section where there are short bio sections on Sora, Donald, Goofy, Jiminy and Riku. There's then a "Game Basics" section giving a thorough explanation on the controls, cards, moogle shops and the rooms. Then there's the walkthrough, it's very much complete and full of tips and strategies for each floor and boss, even telling you what is inside the boss' deck. It also gives maps for the rooms explaining that they may differ slightly from your own experience depending on which room cards you use. Also during the walkthrough it will give you a small bio for the supporting characters as you meet them, this walkthrough is very thorough.
*The Extras* Now the "Secrets of the Game" section, this ties up all the loose ends basically, there is a 'mini guide' for Riku's game that takes you through his scenario and gives tips on each boss fight and using his deck, it also lists his deck for each area, it's about 5 and a half pages long but it more than gets the job done. This section is followed by the card section, it details every card and sleight in the game and then finally the bestiary which gives information on each enemy in the game. And as a nice extra at the end is a fold out/pull out double-sided room map section, which goes into a lot of detail on the rooms you get depending on which room card you use.
In the end, this guide isn't really a must have due to the difficulty of the game, besides that there's already a load of free internet walkthroughs for this game, but on the other hand this is a colourful guide chock full of screenshots and pictures as well as a very in-depth walkthrough, so if you are a fan of Kingdom Hearts as a series then this is a great guide to have.
