5 out of 5 stars well worth the money   December 30, 2008
After much searching of the comments I bought these..the quality is amazing.
It is necessary to get the right fit to enjoy these buds to the full.
I,m amazed at how it picks up the full orchestra when listening to Beathoven,s 5th. ,also Mark Knopfler,s "The long road" is out standing.
I recommend these reasonably priced buds , but remember it is essential to experiment to get the right fit.

Beware of the seller fieryice22511, I'm of reasonable assurance that he is selling fake products and I wouldn't recommend taking the risk of purchasing any goods from him.

5 out of 5 stars Music Really Comes Alive   December 29, 2008
Those in the know...know that headphones supplied with mp3 players etc are generally rubbish - that's why they are free ! Investing in a quality pair of 'phones really makes a difference and if you appreciate quality then these are without doubt the best phones in the price range.

Sennheiser are a well known, reputable and highly regarded headphone brand and I have owned many 'phones to compare these with including their previous CX300's, Sony ex's and my current Shure E2C's.

Included in the package are the 'phones (with volume control), a pouch, case for storing the 'phones and 2 types of "buds" - 3 sizes of each "bud".

Now read this next bit carefully, before hastily rushing to judgement and remarking that these 'phones lack bass make sure you try all buds before coming to your conclusion, if after trying them all you are still not happy then either you are expecting bass stompers that won't be found in a 'phone like these or you have a dodgy pair.

These 'phones are booming.....slamming.....positively a mini nightclub in your head....you get the picture ! Easily an improvement over the siblings that are the CX300's and whilst they don't posses the clarity of my Shure E2C's (but then nothing does), due to the bass they have the best all round sound of any 'phone in this price range. The sound quality is amazing, a real fuller, warm, all round sound that makes the music really come alive.

As always with a quality product like this if you are using inferior audio devices or music of an inferior quality these 'phones may show up the lack of quality.

I cannot recommend these enough, go buy some now...

1 out of 5 stars A Load of Rubbish   December 26, 2008

i Brought these for myself for Christmas, had them sitting by the side of my bed in the package for a good month really looking forward to a new listening experience through my ipod, opened them christmas day, put them on, oh my god i coud'nt believe it. Please take note of the 1 star reviews, these have no bass whatsoever and are really tinny, i do hope they take them back as i will never use them cause the original headphones on the ipod sound so much better and have a much richer sound.
I was expecting a real difference in quality for the good not for worse.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent sound - but if you're worried about tinny sound, read on!   December 20, 2008
When the Sennheisers were delivered, I soon had a real worry that some of the one star reviewers had a point. I heard tinny sound, no bass worth mentioning and of a considerably poorer standard than the stock 'phones supplied with my mp3 player. Surely 40 can buy something better than what I got free in the 1st instance?

But now I'm happy - delighted, even.

With a little bit of time, trying on some of the different sized earphone covers, I discovered that by choosing a size that made an airtight seal (and pretty much sound insulating from the outside world too), the bass magically became rich, the tinniness disappeared and I had clarity, depth and whatever other words audiophiles like to use when something sounds much, much better.

I'll echo another reviewers observation that it's a little strange having such a tight fit - the same air pressure effect happens to me when I put wax earplugs in - but once the sound starts, who cares!

I don't think I'm the only one out there who initially thought the fault with the 'phones themselves - so I hope this information saves others the inconvenience of returning a very good product. Happy listening!
