Lots of sound but no for long! November 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased three of these through Amazon from market place with upgrade memory cards. Great little units, upgraded memory with cards really good value or so I thought! One failed within a couple of weeks another works when it feels like it. Neither the seller nor SanDisk wants to know so just another waste of money. Only buy if you want a disposable MP3.
Horrible October 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sent it back for credit
Would give it 0 stars if I could
It's unreliable and flimsy and really difficult to interface with your computer The manual is useless and tells you nothing of any use
Bought a Samsung U3 which is 1000 times better in every way
Bargain, but can't handle SDHC October 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this as a 1GB pendrive / MicroSD-USB adaptor with MP3 as a bonus so was a little dissapointed that it couldn't handle SDHC - restricting you to 2GB microSDs. Sansa now provide a downloadable firmware upgrade that copes with 4GB (confirmed) and 8GB (unconfirmed) but according to the Sansa site there are still "issues" with larger SDHC. It supposedly allows for .WAV files too. This upgrade earns it the fifth star, but its a hassle having to install it.
As an MP3 player its OK. Display is bright and readable. It remembers your place in the the track provided you don't connect to PC and load or remove tracks. Volume is a bit limited. I've not established how long the charge lasts but its hours. Dragging and dropping mp3 files to the unit when plugged into USB2 port is fine. As manufacturers are under considerable pressure to remove this functionality and REQUIRE a copyright-observing "music manager" app, players which do this are likely to become rarer so worth grabbing one of these.
On all the 32 bit Win XPs I've tried this on, no Remove Hardware icon pops up and there is no Eject menu option for the "Portable Media Player" in Explorer, so I've resorted to just yanking it unannounced from the PC. I've only seen Eject and Stop options come up for this unit under 64 bit XP.
MicroSDs are pretty cheap now so you can increase the memory from 1GB to 3GB , 5GB or 9GB easily. Not worth paying over twice as much for the 2GB model.
Excellent value for money product September 16, 2008 I ordered this on the 14th Sept and got it on the 16th Sept and I have to say I was sceptical in buying this product as I always go for branded products especially when it comes to electrical items. But I was totally impressed with this MP3 player. I absolutely love it, I love the LCD screen lights up in blue and the buttons are easy to use. Also the fact that you can add more storage by buying a micro chip for as little as 2 - it's amazing. Forget all these expensive MP3 players, I totally recommend this item. Only downside is that if you want to listen to the music at the gym for example, you would need to buy a clip separately. However it comes with a neck attachment anyway. Also in the specification there is not mention about a radio which I was slightly disappointed but to my surprise there is a FM stereo function! Brilliant!
It definitely does the job `plug in and play', no down load software, no messing around with your computer, just drop the files you want In this MP3 and play! The ear phones that come with it are basic, however the sound is very good and the functions are user friendly. No complications at all. Enjoy!
Wouldn't turn on after 5 days... September 3, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
It was charging from my laptop and after it was fully charged it wouldn't turn on. Only bought the thing last week. Really disappointing. Also noticed sometimes you go in to the artists group and the songs are missing, go out and back in and they're there. I'm sending it back today but gonna get a replacement as i did like the look and feel of it.
