2 out of 5 stars Confortable and good looking but not that great sounding   November 14, 2008
These are some very confortable and very good looking pair of headphones. Unfortunately (despite of the positive ratings) the sound if far from good.

I bought a pair of these yesterday and have been A-B'ing them with my old and much cheaper Philips SHE2550 and the Sony doesn't stand a change.
There's a total lack of middle range (which translates into no presence in the sound) and upper range (no sharpness). It feels like you're listening to music through a tiny box. No strength, no snap, no hiss, no "shh".

The bass is acceptable though. Everything else is just sad. Avoid them.

I'll try to have them refunded.

4 out of 5 stars Stunning audio quality   August 12, 2008

I'm no earphone expert, but after reading a few reviews I bought these (my other Sony's stopped working (MDR-E818LP)). They came with the M size rubber buds fitted but they didnt fit me as they were too big, I tried the S size and they fit perfectly. These are my first 'in-ear' earphones so I was very pleased.

Had a listen to a few songs and they sounded like comepletely new songs, with loads of bass and other little sounds that I'd never heard before in the songs. VERY happy with them.

My only gripe is that it has an asymmetrical cord, which I hate but I can live with it for now seeing as how the quality is very good.

5 out of 5 stars Sony MDREX32LPB In-Ear Headphone   July 18, 2008
When i first used these i had a little problem with keeping them in my ears but now thanks to the changeable rubber covers you get with it i have that sorted, Now these are probably the best headphones ive ever bought, The sounds brilliant and they have alot of base, once you have them fitting your ears right they sound perfect. Also even though some people have said in reviews that they itch and make your ears sweat i havn't seemed to have that problem and i use them almost all day some days definatly 5 stars from me

4 out of 5 stars Excellent   April 25, 2008

These are the first of this type i have used (in-ear) and i am very pleased. They are light and (for me at least) fit in the ear well.
At last i can listen to the ipod while going off to sleep and rest my head on the pillow without having my ear squashed by the 'outside ear' sort of headphone.
They do leave my ears rather hot inside but really that has only been noticeable 'after' i have taken them out and the cooler air touches the skin.

3 out of 5 stars hmm....I have mixed opinions on this Item...   March 23, 2008

Before i bought these headphones for my ipod, i had been switching through many different types of headphones, of all which broke within a few months (sometimes even weeks). However, this was what i had expected because all of those headphones were not particularily expensive.

After i purchased these headphones, i had extremely high expectations for the durablity, hoping that the 20.00 i had invested would not go to waste. And I have to admit, i was ecstatic. The sounds quality of these headphones are excellent, and they really drown out all sound besides the music. The 3 sizes of different ear-buds provided, ensure comfort for all ears (haha, that should be an advert slogan xD)...and just generally, the headphones are actually quite aesthetically pleasing.

Despite my great effort to keep these headphones in the best conditions possible, these headphones lasted for only 5 months before the left headphone stopped working altogether. Although this pair lasted a lot longer than any others I had, i was still expecting it to last for at least another month or two.

So, on the whole, although the quality of these headphones were excellent, the durability really disappointed me, so from me the item gets 3/5
