Caused problems with remotes January 6, 2009 I purchased this after reading reviews so went out and brought expensive Energizer 850mAh batteries to solve any issues of remote damage. The first time i tried to charge the remotes i found the back one would not charge. This was still the case after swapping handsets and batteries to eliminate a faulty battery or handset. I then had to charge both on front charger. When playing the Wii i then found one remote kept loosing connection. This happend several times and then the Wii console locked and sounded a very ear piercing buzzing. At this stage i removed all components of the charging system and put normal batteries back in the remotes. Fortunatly no damage has been done to the Wii console or remotes. I am now returning the product as faulty and wont be asking for a replacement. I give it one star as it did look good though when lit up.
2 x AAA charger January 6, 2009 Speed of delivery from Amazon over the Xmas period was fab but my daughter was very disappointed with her remote charging stand as it has 2 AAA charging units instead of 1 x AA and 1 x AAA. The remotes use AA batteries so this has rendered the entire unit useless to us.
Kills your Wiimotes January 4, 2009 Have had this charger stand for about a year. I have not really had issues with the battery lifetime, despite it using AAA's instead of AA's. About 6 months ago one of the remotes developed a problem - its blue ligths were dim, and fully charged would only last a few minutes of play. So I couldn't really use it. Now my other remote is completely dead, even if I try with brand new AA's. I don't know why the charger could kill the remotes, but other users have experienced the same problem, so it seems likely that this charger could be to blame.
Avoid! December 27, 2008 After reading several reviews I thought its cheap i'll give it a go. Big mistake. Only the front charging dock works, the second one has killed one of our remotes and there is no space at the back to charge batteries. Thought it was great when we first got it but once it lured us into a false sense of security it turned on us. Save your money-don't buy.
Remote Charging Stand - is it necessary December 5, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having just bought the Wii for my daughter and not knowing anything about it or the technical details I want to know whether you HAVE to have a remote charging stand, I'm assuming then that there is no other way to recharge the remotes. If this is the case why don't the consoles come equipped with a built in charger or some other type of charging function. HELP PLEASE. You think the Wii console is a fairly inexpensive item until you have to buy all the add ons to go with it, including extra remotes, nunchucks, wheels, sports accessory packs etc.
