 Great for the office December 24, 2008
I have been using these headphones almost daily for over a year now as I listen to music to drown out the noise of the busy office I work in. The headphones have suberb sound quality and nothing has worn out, fallen off or stopped working in the time that I have been using them.
They are expensive, but if you want a pair of high quality headphones which won't fall apart and have sound cancelling technology that actually works then these are the ones to go for.
My only gripe is that the battery life to power the sound cancelling is quite short but that's solved with some rechargable AAA batteries and a charger on my desk. Remember to keep the volume low to avoid hearing damage!
Stunning sound. November 28, 2008
Wow. I bought these not only for the noise canceling, but also for the audio quality. I was impressed on both counts. The noise canceling doesn't completely remove all external sound, but it successfully removes nearly all the annoying type of external sound like air conditioning, low droning noises. With the music playing as well, which is what counts, they block the noise very well.
Sound quality is simply stunning. I own some Sennheiser HD490s, which I thought were good, but the PXC 450s just blow these away.
If you enjoy music at all, I'd recommend these. You'll enjoy it even more.

I have had these for two weeks now. Noise cancellation is rather good although I was expecting the speach to be canceled too. You will not hear your aircon or cars passing by but you will hear your mates chatting at work. The "talk through" function is useless. If I was to choose now I would go for the cheaper PXC 350 as the only difference is the lack of the "talk through".
Also keep in mind that you will need rechargeable batteries. I use one AAA per day on average.
Good product although a bit overpriced.

I have heard better headphones....they exist.
But I have never heard the music sound better when Im driving my tractor wearing my Sennheiser PXC 450's !!!
Altogether very impressive . Comfortable and they do knock back any background noise considerably .
As for a comparison with Bose...when did Bose ever make a hi- fi product ? Er never !
