2 out of 5 stars Sorry now that I bought two of these.   October 12, 2008

I couldn't believe how useful this item was, so I bought another one for my son. Does everything it says and very well too. The 12 volt car plug was a bit wobbly, but with a bit of wiggling it stayed in place, in the cigarette/accessory socket. Unfortunately, today when I went to use it the connector which plugs into the transmitter, from the cigarette socket had come loose. So I thought. When I examined it further, I found that the socket part of the transmitter had snapped off the circuit board where it was mounted. Later I examined it closer and discovered that the socket hadn't been attached to the board, except by four tiny wires, instead of two lugs which were designed to take the strain of the socket/wire. The parts were too small for me to repair, so the transmitter went straight into the bin. In my opinion, this fault could be a one-off and I was unlucky. Maybe it is just another example of our throwaway society ... not made to last.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   September 5, 2008

Does what it says and does it well. Works in the car, in the house on my old stereo and the home cinema system. It's plastic and may break easily, just don't drop it. At this price it's a bargain, play all your mp3s through all your radios.

2 out of 5 stars Too good to be true?   August 27, 2008

At 0.01 plus p&p (call it a round fiver) I thought this was too good to be true especially as the only ones I'd seen before were between 40 and 60. Nevertheless, after reading other reviews on here I thought what have I got to lose? It's only a fiver.

There's a reason this is only a fiver - it's complete rubbish! Upon opening the box, the silver surround on the front fell off and button 1 didn't work - and still doesn't. When I turn it on, I wonder everytime if it's going to work as the dipslay shows a load of nonsense.

So that's the build quality, or at least the POOR build quality dealt with. Now how about function? Can't really be much more favourable about it's function either. It's nigh on impossible to get a clear signal in the car no matter where it's positioned, there's a constant whistling. Maybe it's just my car (Audi A4) but I suspect not.

It works, but that'a about all I can say, buy at your own risk....

5 out of 5 stars Excellent buy   July 25, 2008

This is by far the best FM transmitter I have owned,(I have another 3 of differing makes). The sound quality is excellent, whether I use it in the home or in the car. The range of the transmitter is also impressive,- I can plug in my MP3 in the kitchen and it the music can be picked up with ease anywhwre in the house without loss of quality. This unit also has an automatic 'power-off', so that when the MP3 has stopped playing, or is turned off, the unit will switch itself off after a minute or so. The display is easy to read and setting a frequency with memory is easy. The unit will remember the setting. Mine arrived within well packaged from E.W.Link in 3 days. I recommend this transmitter and seller.

5 out of 5 stars You don't always get what you pay for! You get better   June 27, 2008

Prior to buying this I had read the reviews and purchased the item with a touch of scepticism. I paid the princely sum of 0.01p and I can tell you it is the best penny I have spent. The item arrived a couple of days after ordering. It was very easy to set up (it took me all of two minutes)and it works perfectly well from my car radio. Other reviews have mentioned poor sound quality. All I can say is that for the price I paid for this gadget the sound quality is excellent. If they want better sound, then spend a considerable amount more and get a BOSE system.
They say that you get what you pay for, but this is an example of sometimes you get much better than you pay for. If you are looking for a simple device to transmit your ipod/mp3 music to your car radio, then buy this.
