| Customer Reviews:
Very good case but... December 17, 2008 only squarer and thicker HDD would fit the velcro straps, like WD Mybook (5.4 x 13.7 x 16.6cm) or Lacie types. Mine is a Seagate Freeagent Xtreme (17 x 17 x 3.5cm) and it's curved plus too slim for the straps to connect in the normal manner. In my case, I pulled the straps into an X to make them tight enough and that solves the problem. I was worried since my Freeagent is thinner but also wider at 17cm compared to Mybook's 13.7cm width but it fits the bag very snugly with the adjustable partition holding the HDD in place even when the bag is upside down (don't go try it from 3 feet above though). The rest of the space is well reserved for the adapter which is a good fit. The bag's carrying handle is just hard rubber and canvas, no fancy design but sturdy. The base has plastic stands to lift the bag slightly above ground. Nice touch in my opinion, as expected from a German company. The bag's well thought out design is further reflected in the front pocket: it has a natural bulge that is perfect for 2 long cables (2m) or a small adapter and short cables. The mesh pocket inside the bag can hold the shoulder strap and a few CDs securely.
The padding is about 0.7cm which is good enough for me. The Case Logic External Hard Drive Case - Storage drive carrying case - black seems to be better made but it does not give you flexibility like this one and comes at nearly twice the price (I got 1-day-delivery for free with Prime) my choice was made.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. If you want to store a 3.5 external with just the adapter and cables plus some discs or cards, go for this carry case. Just keep "square and thick" in mind though.
