love it November 29, 2008 I bought my little ixus in July 07 I think. It has been superb from day one. Amazing battery life, great pictures and very durable. Like others I opted for a camera that was easily pocketable, had a 28mm lens a decent zoom and one that would stand up to some abuse. I originally bought a case for it - a little over protective of my purchase - no need the camera looks as new even after some 15 months of use. Highly recommended
Excellent Camera August 12, 2008 A really good camera. Enough features to do whatever most "average" users want, but not so much that it is too complex to use. Another reviewer mentioned that the flash was weak - I suspect that depends on what you're comparing it to - certainly, it's been fine for our usage so far. Picture quality, colours and focus all look really good - light enough to carry around a lot (unlike my last camera). I can't think of a reason NOT to buy one of these...
Excellent August 6, 2008 An excellent product from Canon's oh-so-wow IXUS range..
Extremely pocket frienly size.. you can carry it to any of your parties without fearing to look like a dork..
Excellent Photo modes.. manual options.. lot of control on how you want your photos if you know how to tweak.. and if you dont, the auto mode is quite superb in itself.
Excellent battery life.. I have managed almost 400 shots on every single charge..
Fantastic camera February 28, 2008 I got this camera a year ago and am totally in love with it. The other week my son dropped it into his coco-pops and I was gutted. Although it still works I have now bought another one as I'd hate to be without. I have looked at lots of different compacts but nothing tops this one.
All the positive points other put in I agree with.
If you're thinking of getting this camera I really don't think you'll be disappointed.
All you need February 27, 2008 Great little camera, bought a year ago after much consideration and reviews checking. Certainly sold on the wider angle for indoors shots and slightly more optical zoom.
Agree that the battery/card cover is very flimsy and care needed. Two items found on friend's Casio which should be on here (unless I just habven't found them yet) - manual soft flash for close ups, and backlit bestshot function (looking into sun or with window behind).
If you are looking for a hardwearing case to protect the camera in a jeans pocket, but don't need to carry spare card or battery (i.e: a night out), try the Swordfish cases that Dixons are (or at least were) selling. Perfect fit and cheap.
