4 out of 5 stars A Good, Simple, Skype Phone   January 2, 2009
This product is simple and reliable - all we wanted for a landline phone. This phone has not let us down since we bought it one and a half years ago. It installed fine on our computer (which is vista, so it does actually work on vista) and best of all, it's a skype phone so it's really cheap. Firstly it is Philips so it will probably not break down for another three years (cross fingers ha ha) and it also looks very neat. Its smooth edges make it look sleek compared to all of the other phones out there and also the buttons have a good touch and they are quite big so you probably wont press in the wrong number. In reply to another comment out there, you can actually type in a number manually - you don't have to add it to your contacts list.
Anyway, overall, this is a reliable, simple and good looking landline phone to have in your home and will probably work for around 4/5 years. :)

1 out of 5 stars Take care - you'll need a landline   December 31, 2008

I bought this so my daughter could use it at university. She has no landline and I thought connecting to an internet enabled laptop would be sufficient for Skyping. After some fruitless attempts and an 8 minute call to Philips (yes, a human almost straight away on an 0207 number) they confirm that it won't work without connection to a landline.

So it shouldn't be called Dualphone - it should be Normalphone with Skype.

5 out of 5 stars Great phone   October 31, 2008

I have only had this phone for a couple of days and originally found it was not working correctly when running Vista. However a quick visit to the Philips web site and a download of the latest software soon solved the problems. About to purchase a second handset for my daughter and am recommending it to everyone I know.

2 out of 5 stars Not with XP Pro (64bit)   October 13, 2008

I found this phone reasonably easy to set up and it worked well with Skype. However, shortly after I bought it, I upgraded my PC which also required an upgrade of the operating system from XP to XP Pro version. Unfortunately the drivers and software don't work with XP Pro so I can no longer use the phone. Disappointed.

1 out of 5 stars Poor sound quality   September 25, 2008

Found the product simple to set up. Main problem the ring tone is so low you can't hear it and the handset volume is set to medium so so can't hear callers. After much fiddling with the menu to reset the volume(s) gave up and sent it back.
