5 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, usual high logitech standard   December 24, 2007

Well after reading other reviews I went for this neat little device. Its small and compact, good quality for its price range. Clear image, great sound with MSN and Yahoo messengers. Haven't tried it with Skype yet. I was a little put off by some reviews complaining about not being able to take it of its monitor stand and put it on its table top stand but after looking closely at it and the other parts for 30 seconds I gave it a good tug and it came off and clipped in neatly and firmly to its other stand. So dont let other people's complaints about that put you off, just give it a solid pull.

1 out of 5 stars Problems with QuickCam Connect   December 13, 2007

This Logitech camera has not worked well with my system.
During boot-up the camera freezes the lap-top requiring a hard reset.
There are definitely USB issues with this camera and my Intel chipset based laptop. Logitech cannot pass this issue on to the PC manufacturer ; there is clearly a resilience issue in this product design which has let me down. Logitech support keep claiming a software problem which it definitely isn't. The camera works by replugging in after boot-up but this is far from an ideal solution. I have had some blue screen disasters during video Skype as well so I can only advise avoiding this product.

5 out of 5 stars Works flawlessly out of the box with Linux and Skype   December 4, 2007

I was looking for a good webcam with Linux support and ended up buying this one. Since nobody has put any Linux reviews for any webcams, I thought I'd add my one.

Got the webcam, plugged it in, and it was instantly recognised in my Ubuntu Gutsy with Skype. No drivers, nothing to load, no fiddling around, and sends a great image.

5 out of 5 stars Worked ok for me on VISTA Basic.   December 1, 2007
It seems that some people have had issues with the compatability of this webcam and windows VISTA. Well all I can say is that I had absolutely no installation problems at all and the quality of the images, when you consider you are paying under 15, is quite remarkable. Well done Logitech and well done Amazon......another satisfied customer.

1 out of 5 stars cause of so many problems   September 9, 2007

loaded the camera with the recomended update and couldn't get my homepage to load or windows update also windows live messenger, other sites were slow to load vista showed that something from Norton was installed on the PC, but not unless it came with the camera. I asked on a couple of forums and searched but nothing was found that could help the only way I could cure the problem was to reinstall windows vista maybe when vista has been around for a while it will work but until then I am left with a piece of junk.
