Product Description When used with an auxillary keyboard and mouse, the sleek styling of the LX550 turns any notebook computer into a practical alternative to a desktop computer. It's adjustable nature allows the monitor to be positioned at an ideal viewing height, helping to reduce neck strain. Use as a stylish alternative to a bulky CRT or expensive LCD desktop monitor. Position your notebook screen at an ergonomically correct height while taking up less desk space. Incorporates cable management to keep cords organised, a non-skid base and is compatible with most docking stations, making it easy to dock and undock your machine quickly and easily.

Good, simple design June 26, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought the riser for a 17 in laptop, and it works well. The rubber base is very stable and the higher settings match the top of the screen with my eyeline ( I'm 6ft 3in ). The angle allows easier access to the laptop's keyboard as well, and you can clip the mouse/keyboard cables through the back of the stand. Works better for me than a previous iCurve.
3M LX550 - good but not for short people March 12, 2007 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
The 3M LX550 is height adjustable, but we found the lowest height setting to be distinctly on the high side. Health and Safety guidelines specify that your eyes should be roughly level with the top of the screen. Using two different average laptops on this stand, the lowest height setting available was 'correct' for someone of 1.8m or 5 foot 11 inches (as judged by an IT Systems Manager). The purchaser was 5 foot 1 inch, alas.
Summary: A nicely made piece of equipment, go for it if you're 5 foot 11 inches or taller, even then I'd prefer a shade lower setting.
