3 out of 5 stars Good value, pity about the pots   February 23, 2008

I've had these headphones for a while now and found them excellent for the price - apart from one thing. On the right are two pots, one for volume and one for tuning.
Someone has already mentioned that they are too close together, and it's easy to detune instead of altering the volume.
Unfortunately there is a more serious problem; these pots are not very durable. After a bit of use it becomes ever more difficult to tune or alter volume as the tracks begin to skip.
Spare headphones, without the charger, are available, so I bought a set of those, and the same thing happened.
For such a prime brand, they should use better components.
If it weren't for this I would have given 4 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Great phones - but a few niggles   September 9, 2007

I am very pleased with these phones, use them daily. Wireless is wonderful. To my (aging) hearing, the sound quality is just fine. So just a few niggles:-

1) If, like me, you use them while being active about the house and garden, you may find that they have a highly annoying habit of falling off your head when you bend down!

2) There is a smart system in the transmitter whereby it turns itself off if it thinks the TV or HiFi that it is plugged into is switched off. Excellent except that it is far too insensitive and you have to have the voulme very high to prevent it switching off transiently in quiet passages. Not a problem in that the phones can be turned down to compensate, but a real nuissance in that the TV.HiFi ROARS at you when/if you plug the phones out.

3) Real design boo-boo! There are two identical thumb-wheels on the right hand phone. One is for volume that you regularly use. The other is for tuning that you set once and forget. These are far too close together - it is horribly easy to turn the wrong one while trying to adjust the volume (which you obviousy do blind, with the phones on your head)and to lose the sound altogether or introduce hideous distortion. I hope I have just fixed this problem by putting selotape over the tuning wheel (ugly), but the designer should be shot.

Sennheiser hedphones for under 60 - FANTASTIC, Sennheiser cordless headphones for under 60 - UNBELIEVABLE, Sennheiser cordless headphones for under 60 with this sort of quality - PRICELESS. OK they're not the "best-money-can-buy" but if you're on a budget and all you need, like me, is something to watch TV or PC Downloads (with no hiss or buzz that you can notice) then these are the cans for you. Don't listen to the Audio Snobs. These are excellent headphones.

2 out of 5 stars Mmmmmmmm Not quite as good as promised   June 12, 2007

I bought them from Maplins with the best of recommendations from a spotty youth who assured me they were what professionals used for DJing etc. I assumed the cost of 59 gauranteed a quality product but alas, the price does not truely reflect the quality.
The recharging system is ideal and simple, but the clarity is mostly hazed in the background with a constant hiss, allbeit unnoticeable when music or gaming is on.
Now that I see it can be purchased for around half that price, I believe that is a proper market value.
Not bad for my first set of wireless muffs, but having read other reviews, not the best.
They still serve my purpose of online gaming without the wires.
