5 out of 5 stars You must be kidding!?   July 11, 2008

Great camera, but 1,679.99??!! You have got to be kidding! I bought this new 2 years ago for 200, and it's on here USED for more than that!

Get real people. It has been out of production for a year, & replaced by more capable cameras!

5 out of 5 stars SUPER COMPACT DIGITAL   April 30, 2007

I bought this camera at a very good discount simply to keep in the car glove box, (for those inevitable occasions when driving that you see something you want to record, but have not brought your usual camera). In fact, the quality produced by the V10 is so good, and the camera size so convenient, that I find myself using it on occasions in preference to a MUCH more expensive digital SLR with interchangeable lenses. A photographer for most of my 70 years, I am simply amazed that such a small and handy device can produce such superb results. John Stone

4 out of 5 stars From a convert   December 6, 2006

This is my first Digital camera. I have been using a compact Rollei35 and Pentax SLRs since the 1960s. It took a lot of research before I decided to go digital. I want a camera to fit in my pocket and still use the SLR for micro (bellows) photos, long time exposures, and for car speed hill climb shots. The V10 is an excellent camera for what I wanted. On the first day I had it I took some macros which are as good as any I have taken with SLRs and still looked good at A4 size (the Rollei and SLR go to 20" x 30"). Then I took some shots of the grandchildren using its NoFlash/Flash setting. Results were much better than I had hoped and the Red-Eye correction in the supplied software worked like a dream. I am very pleased with the V10. Only fly in the ointment is the "bible-size" instruction manual. But then I am used to wholly manual settings over which I have complete control. The V10 seems to do many of these on Auto, though after less than a week, I haven't yet explored the full potential.

5 out of 5 stars Snaps of the Highest Quality - Easy to Use, Great Camera   October 31, 2006

What a great little camera! We bought this needing something with which to take baby pictures. It needed to be compact, easy to use, have good flash options, and work well in low light. It also needed good autofocus capabilities and generally a good "snapshot" capability, for those quick and fleeting moments that you want to capture on film.

The Fuji FinePix V10 is all of these things. What's more, it takes very good photographs when out and about, of landscapes, groups of people, and what have you. The colour reproduction is excellent under all lighting conditions and it compares very favourably with any top-end 35mm film compact. Things I like especially about it are: the controls you need most often are presented as simple buttons, e.g. flash control (flash, no flash, auto flash and red-eye); the viewing and editing facilities are simple and obvious; there is a passable video capability; and you can quickly switch between different quality levels. The rechargeable batteries last a good long time, and really this is the kind of thing that can go in the pocket or handbag and almost be forgotten about until the next time it is needed.

In a way we cheated, because we chose this camera on the basis that it was the one the shops had sold out of! It does not disappoint, and as an experienced photographer (owning several 35 mm bodies and compacts and a dozen or so 35 mm lenses) I can say that this little number does everything it is supposed to do, very well, and more. If you are looking for a compact camera for high quality snaps, look no further.
