3 out of 5 stars So, so   November 26, 2008
The other reviewers are right - construction is extremely flimsy but then I was fully aware of that when I bought it. Just wanted to see if it would improve the audio level of my iPod Nano through my car audio system when compared to the 3.5mm headphone out. Disappointingly for me, the answer was 'not much', at least nothing perceivable to these ears. A more scientific test showed a 25% increase in peak-to-peak output level (@1kHz sinusoidal) via the dock connector but since our hearing is logarithmic in nature, that effectively makes sod all difference. The only advantage is that the iPod volume is always at maximum and is no longer affected by its own volume control.

3 out of 5 stars Good sound but poor construction   November 4, 2008
Like many other reviewers I've found the connection at the dock connector has broken and I replaced it with a headphone jack connector which simply doesn't offer the sound quality. So its back to buying another and hoping they've improved the QA.

Does exactly what it says on the tin - connect your ipod to the 3.5 stereo in jack on your car stereo (for example) - making it a quick and easy way to play your ipod in the car - with much better sound quality than those awful FM-tuners.

Only problem, the wire is thin and not very durable, sooner or later, due to normal use, the wire will start to go, and you'll end up with sound coming out of one speaker only (unless you jiggle the wire constantly to find a spot it likes) - So if you intend to buy one of these, I suggest bookmarking this page now because you'll be back within 6 months to buy another one - Don't say you weren't warned!

1 out of 5 stars Temporary solution   November 6, 2007

Like one of the other reviewers I found this product to be less than durable, having just thrown my second one in the bin. I bought one of these a few months ago and after about 3 months it started cutting out with sound in the right channel dropping. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt to Ziplinq I decided to buy another one on the assumption that I'd just been a unlucky and sure enough I've had my second one for only a couple of months and the same thing has happened. Until they sort out the quality of their connector I'd steer well clear. It's a shame because the retractable cable mechanism works well and is tidy but as a whole the product is flawed.

3 out of 5 stars excellent, then bad   October 26, 2007

does what it says on the tin and very well; clean sound, never fell out, zip system worked well when necessary. basically been in car since i bought it nearly 9 months ago.

connection has now failed at aux end which has NOT been wiggled wildly or stretched or forced. the plastic has come away ever so slightly from the connector and bare wire exposed. design flaw.

buying another one. from someone else.
