Rip off! December 9, 2008 Mmmm I shopped around on Amazon for these and saw they are priced at 6.49! I thought these guys are ripping us off with these prices. So I just bought a pair of sony headphones for 4.20 with free shipping that comes with earbuds! Bargain.
Message to the supplier....we are not fooled by these prices. By judging what the other reviews are saying....we are too savvy to buy from you! I regret to say, your loss on loosing out on our custom.
ABSOLUTE RIP OFF! November 19, 2008 What an absolute rip-off! I consider ANY headphones that become completely defective and unusable just for the sake of a single rubber earbud an exceptionally bad design!
Sony should be ashamed of their disgusting marketing tactics and absolute contempt for their customers by forcing them unreasonably to spend excessive amounts of money and penalising them for Sony's BAD DESIGN!
This infuriates me enough to completely boycott Sony and their obvious disdain for their customers!
DO NOT BUY THESE! Buy the e-bay equivalent for much much less! Let's get back at Sony and not allow ourselves to be ripped off in such a disrespectful manner!
Do exactly what they say October 14, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
There is a lot of criticism of the price of these which completely detracts from the fact they do exactly what they say they do. The criticism of the price and the low star rating they attract is unfair because the buds are perfectly fine replacements for ones you may have lost. They do cost about 5 but I think I should make a couple of essential points here: (1) making small items like these tends to be labour intensive hence the cost, (2) bud-type earphones are useless without them and (3) if you've spent 40 on earphones paying 5 for spares is neither here nor there.
When I first started wearing Sony earbuds about 7 years ago you couldn't get these items as spares at all and if you lost yours you had to either wear the other sizes supplied or buy new earbuds; overall a much better situation.
a rip off, yet we still buy them March 12, 2008 yep, these are a rip off, they should come in packs of 6 in a specific size as you know what size your ears are after you bout the headphones in the first place and they came with a pair of each size to try.
However, these are cheaper than Shure equivalents, then again Sony is not in the same price bracket as Shure either. It's really annoying paying 4 per piece of usable rubber (for my ears) yet, these headphones (phontopias) are really good for the money, I just better look after the rubbers better!
Total rip off. February 28, 2008 As other reviewers have stated, why do I have to buy three pairs of these silicon earbuds when I only need medium. I need one medium earbud as I lost one and the small and large are useless to me.
I then saw one seller selling a set for 2.50. 'Great' I thought except they are charging 4.50 postage. 4.50 for an item that doesn't weigh anything? It would not cost above 1 to post this item within the UK.
I'm totally annoyed by this blatant rip off as I'll have to buy a set or I'm wasting some great headphones but I won't be buying Sony headphones again in the future.
