4 out of 5 stars Overall a great product!   January 2, 2009
Although I do not type with all of my fingers this keyboard is mainly based on that, I have made made many typos on this keyboard so I need to concentrate a little on what I am pressing. But I haven't made as many typos as my last Logitech keyboard which at first I thought was a very good product. Despite this its a fantastic keyboard and the best thing about it is that its soft touch keys, very light when typing.

At this price, I think its a bargain - especially where Microsoft keyboards are concerned.

3 out of 5 stars Keyboard Letter Erosion   December 31, 2008
I like the keyboard which is more than fine for my own primitive purposes. But within weeks of my buying it the letters on the keys are starting to wear away, as happened to a Dell keyboard but rather slower than in this case. I am asking Amazon about this.

3 out of 5 stars Very bad, useless keys and not as described.   November 30, 2008

described "small" on the front of the box. NOT SMALL. 12 INCHES.
useless buttons? GREAT! back and forwards on the keyboard? NOT ITS JOB. MY JOB TO PRESS BACK AND FORWARDS ON THE INTERNET. So when im doing something important on the the internet, i could easily press back/forward on the keyboard.

one usefull button, caculator.

that it? NO. the only thing is good about it is that its comforting and fast.

also, i might accidently press search on the keyboared when im doing something important and i would have to do it again!!!!

im never going to buy a microsoft product again. another bad mistake like the XBOX, a red ring of death filled machine, thought i would be getting a good offer. VERY DISAPOINTED

I'm not going to pretend this is going to be a fully detailed review concerning the technical details of the keyboard. It's a keyboard. You can type things on it, that's all I really care about to be honest. There are a few points relating to other reviews I've read on here that I think need clearing up, however.

If you're looking at the description and images of the keyboard and are sat there thinking the curved keys will be a problem, let me say straight off they're not. Sure, it takes a few minutes to get used to it, but it really does fit your hands well and typing is just as easy as on any other QWERTY keyboard. Secondly, the feel of the keys is just fantastic, in my opinion. Microsoft call them 'ultra-thin profile' - effectively translating as slightly thinner than standard keyboard keys. Typing on the board feels very much like you were typing on a laptop keyboard, without loosing any of the responsiveness of traditional boards.

A CD with drivers and software is included, although if you are running Vista (and I'd imagine the same could be said for XP), it's simple a case of 'plug-and-play'. Every button functions as it should without me needing to load the CD into my drive. A few reviewers have also commented the lack of buttons relating specifically to next/previous tracks - I can report however that the two forward/back browser buttons situated above the F1-F3 keys work in just the same way with iTunes, although, perhaps unsurprisingly, not with Media Player.

Overall, after 10 minutes of getting to know the new layout, the keyboard really is very easy to use, and types and feels well under your hands. And at less than 12, it really is a bargain!
