 A great little item December 5, 2008
Once i knew that the SD card had to be inserted upside down, i had no problems.
I am running on Vista, the installation took secons and photos's were loaded very quickly from the card.
The reader is compact and comes with a small usb lead.
I am very pleased with this item and the company that i bought it from were very helpful!

Firstly, the supplied usb lead was faulty. I replaced this and it then worked ok with SD and XD cards, but when I tried it with a Sony memory stick pro duo (the small one), not only did it not detect it, but during insertion/removal this horrible card reader caused fatal damage to the card's contacts.
The reader and the card (along with the irritrievable data) are now in the bin.

Bought this to coordinate Psion Series 5MX 16MB, ASUS - Eee PC 701 4G blue (UK version) and sony products. It runs perfectly on my Vaio (XP) and Asus (Xandros). Counter to the experience of some reviewers, my Sony 2GB Pro Duo Memory Stick worked and the short lead is a bonus for mobile computing. Delivery was next day - fantastic!

I bought this because it was cheap so when I found the software installation disk wasn't compatible with my OS I simply shrugged my shoulders and sighed.
But luckily I also emailed Bytestore for advice.
I got a personal reply an hour later telling me that all I had to do was plug the card reader into my USB socket and put my memory card in and the device would appear on my computer.
I tried it, and it worked.
Perfectly.
Great little gadget, cheap and technical support far superior to massive corporations who leave you waiting for days for a reply and then send out a form email.

Just a very sound card reader. Plugs in and installs drivers automatically then your away. Damn good price for it too. I have had mine for nearly a year now and throw it in my bag for college every day, and despite the abuse it gets in my bag, it still works fine.
