I bought this webcam for my note book and after the simple installation process, IMed a friend and asked if I could test it out. Unfortunately, it seems to not be compatable with yahoo messenger. As you can imagine, I was very disappointed. I downloaded Windows Live Messenger and tried it again, and this time it worked brilliantly. The picture quality is amazing, very clear and flows smoothly. It comes with lots of extra features which make chatting on line more fun. I would recommend this product to anyone who uses Windows Live Messenger exclusively. Unfortunately, if like me you prefer yahoo, it's not the right cam for you.

From reviews that I had read I thought this web camera would be a good buy. I was very dissapointed. The picture quality was poor and fuzzy and I had difficulty focusing it. Everytime I tried to start a video call my laptop crashed and said it had recovered from a serious error. I returned it and bought a logitech quick cam pro 5000 which is infinitely better. It runs smoothly and the picture quality is excellent. It also has some nice video extras. All for A[...] cheaper!

Very good camera. Excelent resolution, nice speed. I'm very happy with my new camera. I was a bit scared about the fact that people on their reviews wrote that the camera didnt fit well. However in my compaq presario it fits absolutely well. If you are looking for good quality at a reasonable price dont hesitate.... Go for it!!!

In fact, the image 640x480 is amazing. Very good indeed, I was impressed. Note however that to stream this kind of image with a reasonable framerate you _also_ need to have an impressive bandwidth...
Overall is great and works on Linux with the gspca (old name spca5xx) kernel module (kernel 2.6.x).
