Very good, works perfectly no power needed! March 24, 2007 Some of the other reviewers said that you need a power supply, you don't. Not the one I bought from dannysdirect anyway!
This works with all of my devices inc Microsoft keyboard, fingerprint reaader and mouse, external TV, etc.
The packaging by dannysdirect was great too, never heard of sweex but they seem a good brand, transfer rate was quite fast!
Not impressed March 17, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
When I plug my mouse through the hub the mouse reverts to a default set up (middle button is deactivated). This doesn't happen with other un-powered hubs I've tried. I sent several mails to the SWEEX support address, but all were ignored. After putting my PC on standby, the device isn't always recognised on restart. It also gets VERY hot (IMHO) - and thats without the (not-supplied) external power supply. Save your money!
A great little non-powered hub! March 2, 2006 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
I had never heard of Sweex before but at such a low price I thought I'd give them a go. And I'm glad I did, it does what it's supposed to & it was great value, never had any problems with it at all.I have just seen one of the previous posts complaining that they had to buy a separate adaptor to power the hub - this is shame because this is a non powered hub (although it has a power-in port)- that's all I needed to plug my my mouse, keyboard & a flash drive in. But that keeps the other ports on my computer free for devices that do draw power. If I had wanted a powered hub then I would have gone for the Sweex FA100060UK - cheaper than buying a non powered hub + a separate power supply! But it isnt that clear when you are looking at the descriptions.
Its more expensive than you think! February 22, 2006 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
As the other reviews inform you you need extra power and the hub comes without a power supply. I had to buy a Universal Power Adaptor which set me back another £10.00. In short, after buying this you are looking at £17.00 for a working Sweex 4 port USB hub and to be honest compared with the other hubs available I could have got a better one for a smaller price. Dont buy this product just the hassle of getting the specific 5V and 2Amp Adaptor seperately just isnt worth it.
Useful, but can it do the ironing? January 21, 2006 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
The Sweex 4 Port USB 2.0 Mini HUB is a valuble addition to my PC. I've been running out of USB ports, and this was exactly what I needed.A simple plug and play makes this good from the start, the price is exceptionally good for such an item. While some may complain it doesnt have the best transfer rate, it is a -good- rate, and unlike a lot of HUB's, all of them work to the same standard. If you want a faster HUB, connect directly to your PC, or don't look here. This is a nifty little item, but nothing exciting. If you need some extra ports, the Sweex 4 Port USB 2.0 Mini HUB is for you.
