Product Description Microsoft Optical Technology replaces the old-fashioned mouse ball and works on virtually any surface. Easy and comfortable to use, Basic Optical Mouse is a good choice for value. Microsoft Optical Technology performs best on surfaces with detail to track. It will not function on surfaces without visible detail (e.g. glass) or surfaces where it will see its reflection (e.g., mirrors). The sensor may also have difficulty tracking on highly repetitive patterns (e.g. some printed glossy photographs).Microsoft ...

Mouse's quality is reflected by it's low price. October 15, 2008 This mouse is cheap so i wasn't expecting it to be really good and it isn't. it fits all right in my hand and the buttons work fine so far after 10 minutes of using it. but the scroll wheel is not so good as someone else has already mentioned.
it's not as good as my old mouse but i'm not hugely disappointed coz all i wanted was a cheap mouse for my old PC, coz i'm using my old mouse which is a good quality one for my laptop which i use more now.
so overall, it seems to work fine, but the scroll wheel is not smooth, doesn't have much grip and sometimes you can accidentally scroll up a bit up and down, which is annoying. wouldn't recommend this mouse for gaming, but for normal use, it's ok considering it's low price.
also, i think it looks quite nice.
basic optical mouse, comfortable to use July 18, 2008 Bought this as a replacement for my scroll wheel mouse.
I like the basic uncomplicated design, the mouse is lightweight and plugs into USB bought which means you need a free USB port but reduces the reliance on batteries.
All in all I am pleased with the purchase - first proper use is today but it has worked liked I hoped.
Vista users beware June 30, 2008 This mouse is great value, it's smooth and comfortable and I noticed no jumping at all. The only problem is that vista doesn't recognise the mouse and I couldn't track down any drivers for it anywhere. I am running vista 64, but I'm assuming it's the same for vista 32 also.
I know that there is no mention of Microsoft Vista in the list above but this is the first incidence I've found of a mouse not working based on an OS before. Maybe I've just been lucky in the past.
Otherwise I'd definitely recommend this mouse for gamers and users alike.
Yes, it's jumpy. June 4, 2008 I agree with the other reviewer here, DIB. This mouse has a problem. Every few minutes it will jump to the top of the screen and stick there for a few seconds. During this time, you have no control over the mouse. It's particularly noticeable playing first person shooting games. Your character will suddenly look directly up at the sky while spinning around in circles.
Otherwise: The shape is alright, although, like other mice, it's symmetric in shape and doesn't cradle your palm enough to prevent mistaken clicks of the right button. Scrolling also is in steps, and is not particularly smooth.
Good solid mouse but two long a cable May 11, 2008 Its a very good, small mouse, but the cable is two long, i bought it for use with my laptop, and the two meter cable can get in the way.
Still a very good mouse.
