18 Months On December 21, 2007 It packed up a couple of weeks ago. Shelf life of a flash drive is way beyond 18 months and I didn`t overly use it neither. It won`t work as a ReadyBoost device under Vista, too slow. Never mind :\
Works For a few months, then dies March 21, 2007 I bought this product because I needed a way to transfer my work from school and Home. I bought it for [...] pounds thinking it was a great price, when it arrived I realised how bulky it was, i barely fits into a computer, the lid barely fits on and the casing was about to fall off!!! I was willing to make these sacrifices at first but after a few months it's suddenly died on me, I've tried everything and it still doesn't work. An over-priced, faulty piece of rubbish
Functional device June 3, 2006 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have owned this device for a year now. It does appear cheaply made but has been robust in day to day use and has even survived the washing machine. Read and write are of good speed and there have been no issues with data corruption. All in all good value at what I paid for it and even better at as it is now.
Viking 512mb USB April 22, 2006 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Bought a Viking 512mb USB 2.0 Flash Drive 14 months ago. Have used it daily on PC's from Windows 98 to XP Home & Pro (at work). A real workhorse, never had any problems transferring data from one to another or working directly from flash drive. Felt the need to make a tiny cord to attach lid so as not to loose it. Slightly bulky if next to another USB device but fine in a hub or with extension cable. Despite bulk, would recommend to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive, workhorse flash drive.
Good Little Drive March 13, 2006 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
When i saw the price of this drive i thought what an excelent price for 512mb of portable storage. Alougth the build quality may not be the best it hasnt broken on me or gone dogey. So i would recomend this drive if your looking for a cheap one and are not too bothered aobut it feeling a little plasticy
