4 out of 5 stars Good keyboard for multimedia and games   September 1, 2008
Bought this keyboard a while back, about 6 months ago been using it since. It's a great keyboard for multimedia, has volume controls, mute, fwd, prev, play, stop etc.

Good for gaming, I play lots of FPS games(UT, CSS, Far cry, HL2, COD etc) and response is fast accurate. No problems.

Also has 5 buttons which u can assign shortcuts to open any application. I use it for Firefox, Win Explorer, games and Music apps.

Finally the arm rest is detachable, so u can remove it or keep on, depending on your preference.

Good value for money, Recommended.

2 out of 5 stars Very hard on your fingers ...   November 17, 2006

The good thing about this keyboard is that the distance between adjacent keys is just a little tiny bit bigger than on many other keyboards and this helps your typing accuracy.

My grief with this keyboard, however, is that the keys have a very short trip (but still longer than a laptop keyboard) and when you hit the "bottom" is like hitting **a rock**. Very hard on your fingers. It's probably OK when typing for short periods of time, but when I'm using it for a few hours (i.e., at work), my joints of my fingers start to hurt.

I've been typing for more than 15 years now on **many** keyboards but this one has by far the stiffest "touch" I have ever encountered. So after three months of daily pain I couldn't bear it any longer so I ditched it and bought a Key Tronic instead.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent keyboard   September 19, 2006

I am not a typist, I use whichever finger or thumb presents itself. The keyboard has a good solid feel pluse some extra keys that have been pre programmed. However, 5 keys, marked 'My Favorites' are programmable and can be used as excellent shortcuts for favourite utilities or programs. Quicker than an on screen short cut and allows five such short cuts to be removed thus uncluttering the monitor. I use a keyboard extensively, I prefer to use it to a mouse, and it is standing up to a lot of hard wear. Thoroughly recommended

1 out of 5 stars GAMERS BEWARE!!   April 21, 2006

As a standard keyboard for many applications this keyboard is great although in games there is a major problem, as per usual there are some technical glitches...

When playing games that require multiple keys to be pressed at the same time the keyboard fails and refuses to allow the both keys to be pressed, example in Half Life 2 Deathmatch (Fantastic Game) to do a long jump you have hold in duck and jump with a little bit of strafe, the keyboard will only allow the duck to be pressed (my keys are CAPS LOCK for duck, SPACE for jump and A D for strafe, pretty common..

Microsoft acknowledge the problem but can do nothing else but offer refunds.... GREAT!!!! Stick with the standard DELL.. unless your mate has spilled beer on it like me :(

Hope this helps....

3 out of 5 stars OK, but not Great   March 12, 2006

The main problem I have with this keyboard is the keys. I am used to touch typing and I kind of rely on short keystrokes and the response noise. I find that I need to push the key down a little bit harder in this keyboard and since this is little noise in the feedback I find that it sort of slows down the speed of typing.

I love the old fashioned IBM keyboards, but I guess this is more suited if you like low noise. Maybe it may take some time for me to get used to this.

If I would buy again I think would go for the natural keyboard or the Cherry make keyboard (the one I have in office) which I think allows slightly faster typing with shorter keystroks.
