Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The D-Link DUB-H7 2.0 is a hi-speed USB 2.0 7-port hub that is backward compatible with USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out of the box industry standard that allows connection of up to seven USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H7 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system.Designed to provide quick and easy access, the D-Link DUB-H7 provides seven type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices, or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H7 to the host computer or another USB hub, enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H7 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems. As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUB-H7 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5Mbps and 12Mbps) and hi-speed (480Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.Diagnostic LEDs provide port status for each port and power status.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't ask for a better USB hub   November 6, 2008
This is exactly what you need from a USB hub. Open the box, plug it in and it works first time without a hitch. Nothing crashed (XP) and all my devices worked without a problem. Spending a little bit extra on a decent bit of kit is definitely the way to go with USB hubs. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Just to add my endorsement   September 29, 2008
I agree with everyone who gives this device 5* - had mine 18 months with absolutely no troubles. Worked right out of the box and has been trouble free ever since. I've heard other USB hubs have been problematic - if you're worried, then buy this one.

1 out of 5 stars After Sales Service not up to much   September 11, 2008
Seemed to work well then the unit went faulty, the supplier is very slow to respond and all return costs have had to be made by me. Suggest you buy from a supplier that has good after sales reputation as the odd saving is soon swallowed by postage/packing plus the time it takes standing in a post office que to send via recorded delivery. It's a fact of life that things may go faulty but the sign of a quality company is how they respond and resolve the issue.

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy!   May 31, 2008

I got this item today morning and 4 hours later I just printed the return labels.
All the external hard drives did not work on it, all says unknown device or storage diveci cannot start. The printer is just printing like split 1 page to 5 and printing on 5 page. And I could not find any support for it! So its rubbish! I plugged in my old Trust 4 ports USB 2.0 HUB and ready to buy a new hub for the rest of the stuff. BUT SURELY NOT D-LINK!!! :(

5 out of 5 stars does the job   May 31, 2008

just plug it in and you are away.

notes
* you must separate your USB devices into fast and slow. In my case fast includes external hard drive and webcam. slow includes mouse and keyboard. Only plug fast or slow devices into your hub. if you mix them, your slow devices will slow down your fast ones.
* it requires its own mains socket for power. (well it would - you can't get power for all 7 devices down the single cable that comes from your computer).
