On unpacking the unit, I quickly formed the impression that this is a well styled and attractive display. Apart from the panel itself, the box contained both U.K. and European power leads, a manual, a setup CD and a 15 way D-SUB VGA cable. Note that my unit was NOT supplied with a DVI cable. This panel has a built in power supply which means that you won't have to find space down by the plug sockets for yet another black box.

During installation, I found the panel to be sensibly designed and surprisingly sturdy. The power and video connections to the rear of the case are hidden behind a snap on cover and the cables can be routed tidily through a covered channel in the monitor stand.

The panel has an auto adjust feature which makes setup very simple. All I had to do was make the necessary connections and switch on the power.

Using a standard VGA connection at 1280 x 1024 resolution the display is clear and bright with very good colour and contrast. I have yet to find a dead pixel and the whole thing is a huge improvement over my old 17" CRT. Things got better still when I bought a DVI cable and swapped video connections.

Any criticisms that I have are minor at best. The OSD could be a little more user friendly but then the automatic setup is so good that there's no need to delve into it unless you really want to. It would also have been nice if the panel had been supplied with a DVI cable as standard, though the cost of this may have pushed the package beyond the magic £ 200 price mark.

To summarise, this is an attractive and sturdy product which performs impeccably and seems to offer very good value for money.

This is a big unit, and dwarfs my old 14" TFT. It is also _very_ bright, and the colours are very sharp. In particular, white on this screen really white, not off white or pale yellow as it is in some cheaper displays (my laptop display now looks yellowish in comparison, even after much fiddling with colour temperatures).
The stand is study, and neatly hides the cabling away, with clips to clamp the cables in place and channel them down in the leg and out of the base.
The unit itself is attractive, with a narrow black bezel, then a silver outer frame, with the control buttons neatly integrated at the bottom.
There is a CD in the box, but I've not used it since I'm running Linux. The other contents of the box are at VGA cable, a UK power lead and a 2 pin (US or European? Round pins) power lead.

The only issue I would have is that the OSD is a little minimal, and doesn't provide much customisation possibilties, but since the automatic setup did so well, this is a very minor issue

The best 17" monitor I've used. Pin-sharp dislay. No dead pixels. Elegant design. Installation couldn't have been easier. Adjustments very simple to use. Great price. Can't fault anything. Ordered Wednesday - arrived Friday.

Firstly well done Amazon for excellent service. Ordered Thursday p.m., confirmation of dispatch on Friday and delivered Saturday a.m. and free delivery. Secondly an excellent product at an excellent price. Pin sharp vivid display that puts my old CRT to shame. Not only that but it has two analogue and a DVI input normally found on much more expensive monitors and not a single dead pixel. The only negative point I would mention is that it comes with just an analogue lead, so be prepared to buy a DVI lead if required.

I couldn't recommend this display more. It is pin sharp, beautifully made and has an elegant simple case. It might be a few quid more than the budget models but if you see them next in action next to each other you will realise it is worth every penny.
