Camera Failure November 24, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I feel i must warn other owners of Fuji cameras about the dangers of using their cameras in humid or damp conditions. My camera suffered a failure beyond repair due to use in normal atmospheric conditions. It would appear that the design of the camera allows for water ingress during normal conditions. The camera may have experienced a few drops of rain, but nothing more and i find it hard to believe that the camera is not designed to withstand this. The Fuji repair center were most unhelpful. I will ceratinly never purchase another Fuji camera.
Fuji camera February 7, 2005 21 out of 42 found this review helpful
I am six years old and I really wanted a digital camera. When my first exams were over my Dad took me to a shop to buy it. It wasn't every thing I wanted because it didn't have a charger but while we were there we bought some rechargeable batteries. And guess what? The rechargeable batteries worked!
A good basic little camera January 6, 2005 60 out of 60 found this review helpful
This is my first digital camera, and so far I'm impressed. It is pretty small - not so small as some of the ultra-compact ones, but a lot cheaper than something like the Exilim, and it easily fits into a jacket pocket. The image quality is good - 3M pixels is fine for most uses, and it performs well in the sort of shot I like, such as moodily lit evening skies. It also does do well in low light, so long as the subject is not moving, and you can hold it steady enough: The shutter speed is automatic, and indoors, without flash, the camera tends to set it to to 1/2 second, so you need a tripod or something to rest on. The camera does offer manual control over white balance and exposure compensation, but since these are accessed through menus rather than dedicated controls it will be best for people who are mainly going to use it on automatic. The manufactures and retailers seem to be a bit reluctant to tell you about the camera's compatibility with Macs. It comes bundled with software for OS X (10.2.6 - 3.1) and 9.2.2, though for basic use this is not needed. The camera is recognised by iPhoto as "USB mass storage" and photos can be imported into the library with one click. The one feature that is not supported for Macs is the web-cam mode, which is available only for Windows XP. A little warning: careful reading of the manual will tell you only to delete images through the camera's menu rather than on your PC. Pay attention to this - if you send the files to trash on the PC, they appear to be deleted but the storage is not released and you have to reformat the card to use it again.
Great! December 31, 2004 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
My girlfriend bought me one of these for Xmas, and I'm dead pleased with it. Very clear and detailed pictures at both distance and close up, lots of different photo setting options, resolutions etc, auto mode and manual mode, a digital zoom, clear LCD screen... I could go on. You wont find better for the price. Highly recommended.
Great snapshots December 30, 2004 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
Ok, its basic, but the user interface is as good and simple as its older brothers. Its fantastic for close up - well lit shots - but anything longer and the lense fails and the images become distorted, and JPG artifacts appear on-mass. Appart from the latter, its a handy cheap, cammera.
