10 Meters. I don't think so... March 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought one of these to use in my living room with my MS Media Centre, big mistake. 10 meters is the "theory" but it has trouble working correctly 2 meters away!! The mouse also has trouble recognising that it is moving if you use a black surface to place the mouse on, I've used the MS bluetooth keyboard before and that is exeptional, although it is 4 times the price. This is not a good product. I ended up buying a MCE IR keyboard, much better and it has an off switch to save on batteries.
Not quite so bad! September 3, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I had the same problem as the other reviewer here, but all you have to do is click both mouse buttons simultaneously or press any key to restore the bluetooth connection to the mouse or keyboard respectively. The connection simply goes into standby to preserve battery power.
Overall this is a decent product. My only real complaints are: (a) short battery life - two AA batteries last only about 20 days with continual usage; (b) the Belink Bluetooth adaptor driver is incompatible with Windows XP. WinXP tries to overwrite the driver every time you boot up. The fix is relatively simple once you manage to locate the relevant support page on the Belkin website (which is easier said than done), but it's laborious and should have been included on the setup disk to save customers pointless confusion and wasted time.
Aside from that, the products work fine. It's pretty well priced versus competitors, too.
Unreliable connection June 11, 2006 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have found this keyboard (and mouse) to be less reliable than my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. It regularly looses the Bluetooth connection for no obvious reason. This does not happen with the other keyboard. I have got sick of re-installing it, so have stopped using it in favour of my other keyboard. Sometimes even though connected it does not work.
