Ive had this camera for a year now and it has given me some excellent family and also some very good macro photos blown up into A3 I would recomend it to anyone especially a novice like myself.
Great camera September 12, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bought this camera a couple of months ago, and have hardly been in the house since - picture quality is excellent and I have been out and about everywhere trying it out! I agree with the other reviewers that a decent size memory card, or compact flash card, is a must and you really do need to get rechargeable batteries but apart from that it is great. It can be a bit fiddly until you get used to where the various buttons are and what they do, but that could be said of almost any electronic gadget - I have to say my generally rubbish photos have been improved no end, probably due to taking more time and effort in composing shots to get the best from my new toy! For a complete amateur looking to upgrade and get more involved in the hobby, you really can't go wrong with this.
A digital SLR at a fraction of the cost July 23, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have owned this camera for little over a year now, and as some other reviewers have said it is a real shame that Amazon.co.uk no longer offer this on general release. It is still availalbe in some stores however, so I do recommend shopping around as it is a real cracking camera... couple it with a larger xD photo card and a set of rechargable batteries and you have got a professional looking and functioning camera at a fraction of the cost of a digital SLR. The thing I love about this camera (and as I'm sure you'll come to appreciate) is that you can use the fully automated mode where the camera will determine all the settings for you, or you can change every single one of the presets so that you get the shot you really want... it gives the user "room to grow" from an amateur to perhpas a professional photographer; a quick read of the manual and you will already be on your way... my advice - get this camera. You will not be disappointed.

I got this camera for free at digitalcameras freepay- this is one of the very few "free product" sites I have found which actually work - and you can take my word for that. It has been featured in The Times and on BBC Radio 4 for its ease of use and quite literally you could have a new camera being sent to you within days..! Good luck with the camera whether you get it for free (like me) or buy it.
Get the extras July 20, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a superb camera, a pity it is no longer generally available.
One tip, get the extension tube for filters, etc (about 23) and then fit a skylight or UV filter. It goes a long way to protecting the lens.
It lasts for yonks on decent Ni-Mh batteries.
Fuji S7000 review. July 5, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bought this camera about two weeks ago now from Amazon and also got a 256Mb memory card for it, just got some decent batteries today (2800mah NiMh) as alkalines are pretty useless. Got it to replace my little Samsung 800k compact which has served me well for many years but wasn't very good for prints. Was going to go for the S5000 originally but for 70 more thought I would get this and glad I did. Prints are excellent upto A4 from 6MP pictures, excellent zoom and macro shots and can shoot short videos too with sound. Like the other folk say , just remember to get some good batteries and a decent size card and for 200 you wont go wrong. Excellent piece of kit.
