Product Description Fujifilm's new xD-Picture Card is the ultimate solution for the exciting new generation of compact digital cameras. xD-Picture Card is the smallest, lightest flash memory card available today, yet it offers the fast read/write speed and high capacity that today's newest products require.Note that these remaining versions are "H-Type" cards. The xD-Picture Card is a new type of ultra-compact memory media that has been developed jointly by Fujifilm and Olympus. It meets the demands of new camera technologies that deliver larger image files and in some cases have the ability to record high-quality movie footage. By adopting a very small footprint (of only 20 x 25 x 1.7mm and around 2g in weight), camera designers also have the flexibility to produce more compact and innovative models. The name 'xD-Picture Card' was derived from eXtreme Digital and was chosen to reflect the excellence with which the new format would be able to record, store and transport audio-visual information. With a capacity for up to 8Gb of data, the format is set to meet the demands of data storage in digital cameras and other devices well into the future. As well as the potential for large capacities, (increasingly larger capacity cards will become available through 2003 and 2004), xD-Picture Cards have a high read/write performance. The new media boasts data transfer rates of around 5Mb of data per second. This makes them ideally placed for recording image 'bursts' (i.e. large numbers of images over a short time interval), high-resolution images and high quality video, (such as the full frame, full frame rate movie mode offered in some FinePix cameras). It also greatly enhances the user's perception of the product. The waiting times, as images are written to the card, or read from it, are also minimised.Despite the higher performance in terms of capacity and speed, xD-Picture Cards are also more economical with battery power. User's will benefit immediately from enhanced battery life

Fujifilm 256Mb xD Card - Caution September 28, 2006 24 out of 26 found this review helpful
Be aware that when you order this card you are likely to receive a type M/H card and not the the standard xD card as illustrated! Type M/H cards are compatible with most - BUT NOT ALL - xD digital camera. Check out the Fujifilm (or Olympus) website to check compatibility for your particular camera. Digital cameras over 3 years old may not be fully compatible. I was lucky, the card works in my 3 year old Olympus C750 - although it is a bit slower that the standard xD card.
If you enlarge the picture of the xD card you will see an illustration of the standard card that you should receive - not the type M/H that you will actually receive. Amazon should update their page for this item as soon as possible. You have been warned!
Great Product! May 30, 2006 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought the 256MB XD Picture Card for my now ancient Fujifilm FinePix A210 and it works perfectly. At 3 megapixels it holds a very acceptable 325 images (as opposed to 33 on the supplied 16Mb picture card), and 550 at 1 megapixel. It also comes in a little plastic case for safe keeping which is extremely handy considering the size of the card! Highly recommended product for people who don't want extreme amounts of images, but enough for taking photos at high quality and still have plenty left.
A useful piece of kit January 4, 2006 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
What can I say? It's XD, it's Fuji and it works. 256Mb is getting small these days, but it holds a good number of photos even on my 6Mpixel camera. A good compromise between price and capacity.
Fastest I've owned April 3, 2005 52 out of 55 found this review helpful
I've got a Fuji S5500 and bought this chip because, as usual, Fuji only gives you 16 megs. I've used CF and SD cards and this card leaves them standing. I realise that new chips and circuitry also help but interms of sheer speed at allowing me to "Snap away" this card really is all that the Fuji and Olympus people say it is. And this card REALLY is as small as a postage stamp. For some reason it's made by Panasonic. Highly recommend.
256MB XD Card - Superb Value March 17, 2005 45 out of 47 found this review helpful
Bought this card before my holidays and took over 200 pics plus (3M resolution) and some mini video's on my Fuji F410. Still had room for approx 100 photos. Superb value for money.
