Excellent for A Level Photography September 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Calling all photography students. I have had this software no less than a month and it is a dream.
I am currently doing an A Level photography course at my local college which requires software like this to enhance and modify your work to create stunning pieces to show in the end of year exhibit.
It is so easy to use compared to previous versions and runs flawlessly on my computer. If you want something that is reasonably priced, easy to use and creates amazing pictures this is the software for you.
Stick with Version 9 if you can get it September 3, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This version offers little more than version 9 and is far more memory intensive. I Bought this directly from Corel and have been unable to even activate it as it just hangs. The help is hopeless and I have removed this from my PC and am looking to get a refund.
As I say in the header get Paint Shop Pro 9 which was one of the later ones before Corel ruined it
Does not support Canon 450D September 1, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using PSP since version 4. I have had no problems until now, though. Why, Why, Oh Why doesn't Corel's X2 support the Canon 450D's raw files? I only want to use one photo processor, and that has always been PSP. But its let me down. Corel have taken their eye off the ball, tinkering around with X2, making it little better than PSP11, whilst ignoring Canon users. They have ignored the thousands of 450D purchasers and I for one feel betrayed. How long do they need to come up with a patch for X2 to convert Canon's raw files? The 450D has been around in the UK since May and still there is now fix. I for one am fed-up, and I'm ready to swop to an alternative product. I give Corel 48 hours to get a fix on their web site or I'm off. And I recommend that no Canon user/prospective purchaser should bother with Corel PSP X2; it's a waste of money and a waste of space. If Corel can't keep up, then Canon users should be warned off PSP X2. Corel cannot be trusted to bring their product upto date with any new Canon product.
PSP X2 or Elements 6 September 1, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Try before you buy. Both of these products have 30 day free trials and each have pros and cons. I have seen a number of comments about PSP X2 slowing your system down and to opt for Elements. I found the exact opposite. Elements had me pulling my hair out waiting to even load pictures into it, whereas PSP X2 was very straightforward and it has far more powerful features for the serious user.
Does not support Canon 450D August 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good product but does not support Canon 450D raw files, Corel say it'll be in the next release but will not say when that will be. So I bought Element 6, this does support the 450D and seems to be a much better product.
