Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Give yourself the edge -The results are stunning   January 28, 2007

After using various design suites i found this to be the most comprehensive CAD application around although very complicated, time spent is well worth it.

The results are stunning. I made some wire-frame models which i thought looked ok but not that special, however after adding 3D rendering the results were stunning.

V10 is well expensive and quite un-user friendly, but V9 is so much better.

Buy and enjoy.

1 out of 5 stars "Professional" version may be good, but not "Standard"   March 21, 2004

Very disappointed with limitations of "Standard" version.

Don't assume that the "Professional-only" features are just high-end extras - with Standard version you are not allowed to Round or Chamfer solids, nor do you have any choice of Materials.

I bought this for my 13-year-old son, who enjoys designing things. Within minutes, the limitations of the Standard edition were all too obvious and frustrating.

Even worse, the Help system repeatedly gives instructions that are only applicable to the (much more expensive) Professional version. Help system doesn't mention this, so you spend ages trying to find an option which does not exist. The only way of telling what you ARE allowed to do is to read the printed manual, which has the banner "Available in TurboCad Professional only" above relevant sections.

It reminds me of Henry Reed's poem "Naming of Parts": "...And this is the piling swivel, Which in your case you have not got."

Buy the "Standard" version only if you want repeatedly to be reminded how poor you are.
