Excellent Upgrade June 22, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've always liked the quality of Belkin products, and this is no exception. This card took me less than 10 minutes to install. Upon booting up, Windows recognised the host controllers, and installed the drivers for me without the CD or any downloads (Windows XP SP1 includes drivers for USB 2.0 as standard). The card has worked perfectly ever since - no hardware conflicts and no problems. Well worth the money if you have any USB 2.0 devices.
Just don't bother November 15, 2002 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
I bought this card to service my brand spanking new USB hard drive. Not only does it not provide enough power through the bus for the drive (thus necessitating use of a PS2 passthrough), I cannot transfer files to the drive through this interface at all, with continuous data errors being thrown by Windows. The drive works fine on _every_ other controller I've tried. As the subject says, just don't bother.
Disappointing May 23, 2002 31 out of 33 found this review helpful
Having installed various hardware successfully on a number of occasions, I was disappointed that I could not get this card working. Supposedly 'Plug and Play', it caused my machine to freeze repeatedly during startup and this problem was only rectified by removing the device entirely, despite my setup being 100% USB compatible. I am running Windows ME, and although the Microsoft HCL list is inconclusive I was informed elsewhere that this product is WinME compatible The device is delivered in bloated packaging, no drivers are supplied with the product and the literature provided is worthless.
Becareful - allow 4 hours to install!!! January 21, 2002 47 out of 51 found this review helpful
This product is so easy to install that Belkin do not provide any drivers on their web site or with the card. Once I got the card installed , 1st it disabled my modem, once I had reinstalled the modem the sound card would not work. I decided to do without sound for a while to enable my sanity to return.God help anyone else who purchased this product. I found it totally frustrating.
