4 out of 5 stars Chunin Exams round one   September 17, 2008
Having decided to enter the Chunin (Journeyman Ninja) Exams and as the first round begins Naruto and his friends must now face their toughest test yet: a written exam. As the majority of this volume of the manga is taken up with the exam there is little in the way of action. This is not to say that this volume is boring, this is a Ninja exam after all and there is more to it than there seems. Naruto is a very enjoyable manga and this volume is no exception with the good writing and art easily making even something as mundane as an exam fun to read. The final chapter of this volume sets things up nicely for the next round of the Chunin Exams and I am looking forward to reading what happens in the next volume.

4 out of 5 stars More ninja mayhem!   August 14, 2005

The Naruto series justs gets better and better. After Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Kakashi defeated Haku and Zabuza in volume 4, they find that Kakashi has entered them into an exam. This isn't your ordinary exam either. Volume 5 is filled with as much humour form the 1st volume and some great new crazy characters for are heroes to meet. This edition doesn't contain much action, but for those who have read the violent 4th volume, they will be pleased with this extremely funny addition to there collection.
