What a waste of money November 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not only is this book poorly organised, the CD that came with it did not contain all the files that it said it would. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Far better is SAMS Javascript in 24hours which unfortunately is not generally available in the UK (Why not?). Found it on Amazon nonetheless.
JavaScript for Dummies !!!!!!! December 19, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had great expectations of this book, i am a complete novice at javascript and thought this book would help me understand the concepts more easily in preparation for a course i am about to undertake. But this dummie certainly found the book too difficult to grasp.I hope that i can use this book as a reference once i have finally mastered the art of javascript from other sources. If you are thinking of buying this book as a complete beginner then think again, there are better books out there than this one to start with
I thought this was meant to be an idiots guide!? September 1, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am a complete idiot and newbie when it comes to javascript so I thought this book would be ideal for me. Unfortunatly I was lost after reading chapter 3, the author dives right into the nitty gritty of javascript before even explaining the structue of it. Any new user is just going to be lost and confused with this book. I wish I had chosen more carefully.
very weak book August 3, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book when I had no clue regarding Javascript, I read 90% of the book, and by that time I realised I understood nothing, the examples are worthless there, and the book doesnt teach you the basics of programming javascript
GREAT FOR BEGINNERS!!!! July 4, 1999 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
I loved it!!! I have been programming with HTML,Perl,C, JAVA, JavaScript, ASP,VB Script and visual basic and I said " Hey, let me pick up one of these JavaScript books!" I already know JavaScript but, I teach it and wanted a simple outline for my course, its great for the one who just start but not for someone who already knows it.
