One of the best books of its kind around March 25, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is an excellent guide, well set out and illustrated with lots of examples. It has a small section on digital art, which I am not in to, but everything is achievable the old-fashioned way. He covers all the basics in a practical and easy to follow manner, and the principles are covered thoroughly and clearly. He also discusses the professional side of things - getting an agent (or doing without), etc. The gallery at the end has some truly inspirational and stunning examples of artwork. A very well thought out book.
Excellent Guide August 26, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a very good guide to any budding fantasy artist or artist wanting to bring fantasy elements into their work. I have a number of books on this subject and this is one of the best around because it deals with technique.
